Day 18: 2 Nephi 26-27

Hello my dear friends!

Today was such a great day!  I hope you had a good day as well.  I was able to get a little done at home and then I picked up a friend and we went to the Oklahoma City Temple.  What a sweet place that is.  We have LDS temples all around the world and they are all beautiful.  If you haven't had the chance to see one, I encourage you to find one near where you live and check it out.  I love to see the temple!

Here are some pictures of the Salt Lake City Temple that I took while visiting there last Spring.

Let's go ahead and jump right in with today's reading.  I enjoyed these chapters so much that I highlighted a bunch of verses.  If there are any of you reading along with us online, please send me an e-mail and I will get you your own copy of the Book of Mormon.  I love having my own to mark up and put notes in.

2 Nephi 26:33
"For none of these iniquities come of the Lord; for he doeth that which is good among the children of men; and he doeth nothing save it be plain unto the children of men; and he ainviteth them ball to ccome unto him and partake of his goodness; and he ddeniethnone that come unto him, black and white, ebond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the fheathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile."
  • 2 Nephi 26:33. “He Inviteth Them All to Come unto Him”

  • President James E. Faust (1920–2007) of the First Presidency challenged us to set aside prejudice and to labor as brothers and sisters in the kingdom:
“I hope we can all overcome any differences of culture, race, and language. …
“… In my experience, no race or class seems superior to any other in spirituality and faithfulness. …
“Spiritual peace is not to be found in race or culture or nationality but rather through our commitment to God and to the covenants and ordinances of the gospel” (in Conference Report, Apr. 1995, 80–81, 83; or Ensign, May 1995, 61, 63).
  • Elder M. Russell Ballard explained that the gospel blessings are for every one of God’s children:
“Our Father in Heaven loves all of His children equally, perfectly, and infinitely. His love is no different for His daughters than for His sons. Our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, also loves men and women equally. His Atonement and His gospel are for all of God’s children. During His earthly ministry Jesus served men and women alike: He healed both men and women and He taught both men and women."

In Chapter 27 it talks about a book that will be the words of those who have slumbered.  It is talking about the Book of Mormon!  The book which you all are reading with me.  Isn't that so cool!

27:6
"And it shall come to pass that the Lord God shall bring forth unto you the words of a book, and they shall be the words of them which have slumbered."

In Chapter 27 verse 23 we read…
"For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith."

What great hope that gives me.  I know that God is unchanging and the promises He makes in the scriptures are true.

I want you all to know that families can be together eternally and forever.  It is the plan of our Heavenly Father.  Jesus Christ died so we can live again.  My father passed away when I was 21.  I know that I will see him again.  Our Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to be happy.  He has a great plan of Happiness so that we can be together with our families forever.  I want to share the following video.  I know that it will touch quite a few of you who have gone through your own personal hardships.  There is always HOPE and that is the hope that comes through the atonement of Jesus Christ.  I will talk to you all tomorrow.  Love you!

  1. I'm very thankful that Joseph Smith choose to obey Heavenly Father so we may be apart of the restored church of Christ!
