I hope you are all having a great Wednesday! It's been a good day for me. I got up and played tennis this morning while my kids had their lessons. Then I took some of the kids school shopping. Only 3 weeks left! Tonight we had a Relief Society Pool Party Social. Of course, I was the only woman who did a cannon ball into the pool! LOL! Someone had to do it, right? Just wanted to share that I made a new friend this past week and a half. I feel the Lord has heard and answered my prayers, even if it took 4 years. I am thankful for this new and lasting friendship. I am also thankful for my other good friends near and far.
I wanted to share our "Scripture of the Day". This scripture is an invitation to all. We can all seek and find our own answers through prayer and faith.
Okay, for today's reading we only have 2 chapters. In chapter 24 Nephi is still quoting Isaiah. I will share my favorite scripture from that chapter and then we will move on to chapter 25.
2 Nephi 24:3
"And it shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall give thee rest, from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve."
The thought that jumped into my mind when I was reading this scripture was to hang in there because good things are to come. What a great message of hope that is!
I highlighted many verses in chapter 25. I encourage you to also mark up your scriptures. Highlight, underline, make notes in the margins, etc. Here are some that I marked that I will share with you.
2 Nephi 25:23
"For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.
Grace is the help or strength given through the Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ . Through the grace of God, everyone who has lived will be resurrected —our spirits will be reunited with our bodies, never again to be separated. Through His grace, the Lord also enables those who live His gospel to repent and be forgiven.
Grace is a gift from Heavenly Father given through His Son, Jesus Christ. The word grace, as used in the scriptures, refers primarily to enabling power and spiritual healing offered through the mercy and love of Jesus Christ.
Everyone on earth experiences physical death. Through the grace of Jesus Christ, all will be resurrected and will live forever (see 1 Corinthians 15:20-22; 2 Nephi 9:6-13).
Because of personal choices, everyone also experiences the effects of sin (see 1 John 1:8-10; Mosiah 16:4). These effects are called spiritual death. No one can return to the presence of God without divine grace. Through the Atonement, we all can be forgiven of our sins; we can become clean before God. To receive this enabling power, we must obey the gospel of Jesus Christ, which includes having faith in Him, repenting of our sins, being baptized, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and trying to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ for the rest of our lives (see Ephesians 2:8-9; James 2:17-22; 2 Nephi 25:23; 31:20).
The grace of God helps us every day. It strengthens us to do good works we could not do on our own. The Lord promised that if we humble ourselves before Him and have faith in Him, His grace will help us overcome all our personal weaknesses (see Ether 12:27).
"And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins."

2 Nephi 25:29
"And now behold, I say unto you that the right way is to believe in Christ, and deny him not; and Christ is the Holy One of Israel; wherefore ye must bow down before him, and worship him with all your might, mind, and strength, and your whole soul; and if ye do this ye shall in nowise be cast out."
Last night the missionaries stopped by to say hi. What a blessing it is to have the Lord's servants serving our family.

ReplyDeleteWe say it's in God's time, even when we think it should be in our time. Heavenly Father has a plan and a purpose for all of His children! If only we use our free will to allow His promptings to guide us to His plan: that is key to the 1st steps toward our walk in life so we may return to our Heavenly Father!
